Head to head
Timo vs HiJiffy: Which AI Guest Communication Tool Fits Your Hotel?
A straight comparison of Timo and HiJiffy for hotel guest communication: channels, phone coverage, PMS integrations, published pricing, and which properties each one actually suits.
The short answer
HiJiffy and Timo both automate hotel guest communication, and they split on two things. HiJiffy is the larger, messaging first guest communications hub, with 2,600+ hotels, 80+ integrations and public prices from 99 EUR per month. Timo answers the phone as well as WhatsApp and email, is live with Mews, and is quoted per property. Choose HiJiffy for breadth of integrations, Timo when calls are part of the problem.

What each column means, and why it decides anything
- Built around
- Both products answer guests. They were designed around different bottlenecks, and that is what decides which one pays for itself at your property.
- Channels named on its own site
- Coverage of the channel your guests actually pick matters more than any feature list.
- Answers the phone
- This is the clearest difference between the two, and it is the one most evaluation checklists forget to include.
- PMS integrations
- An assistant that cannot read the reservation can only answer generic questions. Breadth here is a real advantage.
- Published pricing
- Whether you can budget before a sales call, and how quickly you can rule the tool in or out.
- Scale the vendor publishes
- Size buys you process and stability. Being small buys you access and flexibility. Decide which one your property needs more.
The two options
Timo
Our productAn AI receptionist covering WhatsApp, phone and email with one shared memory, built around the properties that have no night shift to spare.
Best for: Independents, small groups and serviced apartments on Mews where phone calls, not just messages, are eating the evenings.
Timo answers guest questions on WhatsApp, on the phone and by email, guides check-in, routes what it should not decide to your team with the conversation attached, and offers upgrades while the guest is still deciding. It is live with Mews and PMS agnostic by design, with further integrations in progress. Most properties are live with a first version in about two weeks, starting in safe mode where it drafts and a human sends. Pricing is quoted per property after a call. We are considerably smaller than HiJiffy, which is the honest trade for direct access to the team that builds it.
HiJiffy
Checked Aug 6, 2026A guest communications hub that pulls every messaging channel into one console and automates the FAQ layer of guest service.
Best for: Properties and small groups that want a mature, hospitality native messaging hub, a long integration list, and a price they can check without talking to anyone.
HiJiffy describes itself as a guest communications hub and states it resolves up to 85% of guest FAQs instantly. Its site names WhatsApp, email, SMS, webchat and website pop-ups, along with digital check-in and check-out and automated campaigns for upsell, loyalty, surveys and reviews, all consolidated in a single console. It publishes 2,600+ hotels worldwide and 80+ available integrations. It is one of the few vendors in this category that publishes prices: Basic from 99 EUR per month, Pro from 159 EUR, Premium from 319 EUR, each with a separate setup fee, priced by rooms and number of properties, with an Enterprise tier quoted on request.
The difference that actually decides it
Feature grids make these two look like near twins. In practice, the choice usually comes down to one question: what is eating your team's time, messages or calls?
HiJiffy is messaging first. Its own site names WhatsApp, email, SMS, webchat and website pop-ups, and it is built to pull all of them into one console so nothing is answered twice or missed. If your guests message and your problem is that those messages arrive in five different inboxes, that is precisely the problem HiJiffy was designed for, and it has 2,600+ properties of practice at it.
Timo starts from the phone as well as the message. A property with no dedicated night shift does not lose its evening to WhatsApp, it loses it to the phone ringing during check-in. Timo answers on WhatsApp, phone and email with one shared memory, so a guest who messaged at nine and calls at ten does not start again from the beginning.
Neither approach is more advanced than the other. They are answers to different questions, and the wrong one is expensive in a way no demo reveals.
When HiJiffy is the better buy
We would rather you read this now than find it out in month three.
- You need a specific PMS integration that is live today. HiJiffy publishes 80+ integrations. Timo is live with Mews and adding others. If you run something else and cannot wait, that is decisive and no amount of enthusiasm from us changes it.
- You want to budget before you talk to anyone. HiJiffy publishes real plan prices. We quote after a call, which is slower for you.
- You are a group standardising many properties at once. Published multi property pricing and a large installed base are worth more to you than direct access to a founder.
- Your guests do not call. If the phone is genuinely quiet and everything happens in chat, Timo's clearest advantage does not apply to you.
When Timo is the better buy
- The phone is part of the problem. This is the main one. A messaging first tool leaves the calls exactly where they were.
- You run Mews and want the assistant reading real reservation data from day one, not answering generic questions while an integration is scoped.
- You want the product shaped around how your property runs. At our size, an operator's specific request lands with the people who build the thing. At 2,600 properties, it lands in a backlog. That cuts both ways and you should weigh it honestly.
- You want upsell and review requests handled by the same assistant that answers questions, rather than as a separate campaign tool.
How to decide in a week
- Pull the numbers you already have. How many guest calls did reception take last week after 8pm, and how many WhatsApp or email threads? The ratio picks your shortlist before any demo does.
- Ask both vendors the same three questions. Which PMS fields do you read and write today? What happens when the assistant is not sure? What does month one look like if we start in safe mode?
- Ask for a reference property on your PMS and your size, and actually call it.
- Price against hours, not against each other. The relevant comparison is not 99 EUR against a quote. It is either number against the cost of the front desk hours the tool removes.
How this page was built
Every claim about HiJiffy on this page was read off hijiffy.com and its public pricing page on 6 August 2026, and both are linked above. We have not run HiJiffy in a live property, so this compares what each company publishes and what we know about our own product, not a side by side trial.
We build Timo, so this page is not neutral, and pretending otherwise would be worse than saying it. What we have tried to do instead is name the cases where the other tool wins. If anything here is out of date or wrong, tell us and we will correct it.
Frequently asked questions
What is the difference between Timo and HiJiffy?
HiJiffy is a messaging first guest communications hub covering WhatsApp, email, SMS, webchat and website pop-ups, with 2,600+ hotels, 80+ integrations and published prices from 99 EUR per month. Timo is an AI receptionist that also answers the phone, covering WhatsApp, phone and email with one shared memory, live with Mews, quoted per property. The practical split is voice coverage and integration breadth.
Does HiJiffy answer phone calls?
HiJiffy's own website names WhatsApp, email, SMS, webchat and website pop-ups as its channels, and does not name a voice or phone answering channel as of 6 August 2026. If phone coverage is what you are buying, ask them directly rather than relying on any comparison page, this one included.
How much does HiJiffy cost?
HiJiffy publishes its pricing: Basic starts at 99 EUR per month, Pro at 159 EUR and Premium at 319 EUR, with setup fees of 99, 399 and 599 EUR per five properties respectively, and an Enterprise tier quoted on request. Prices are based on the number of rooms and properties, and yearly payment options are listed. Check their pricing page for the current figures.
How much does Timo cost?
Timo does not publish a price list. Pricing is quoted per property after a short call, because it depends on property size, channels and how much of the guest journey you want covered. That is slower for you than a public price list, which is a fair criticism. If you want a number quickly, book a call and ask for one on that call.
Which one integrates with more PMS systems?
HiJiffy, clearly. It publishes 80+ available integrations. Timo is live with Mews today and PMS agnostic by design, with further integrations in progress. If your PMS is not Mews and you need it connected now, HiJiffy is the safer bet on that criterion alone.
Fifteen minutes, your property, a straight answer on whether Timo is the right fit. If HiJiffy suits you better, we will say so.
